Loan Manager
(Full-Time - Sacramento)

Salary Range:

$32.97 to $35.16 depending on experience

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible lending and management responsibilities. Advanced knowledge of Federal and State rules and regulations and credit union procedures and policies. Solid knowledge of financial concepts, products, and services in a financial services environment. Have leadership skills and ability to motivate self and team members. Demonstrate positive demeanor and outgoing attitude. Professional verbal/written communication skills and presence. Have a high degree of organizational skills and able to prioritize duties on a daily basis. Must possess the ability to multi-task and work efficiently and be computer literate. Must be bondable and flexible to perform any duties as required.

Basic Function:

  • Collaborate with loan officers, loan processors, and frontline teams to provide support and guidance regarding guidelines and to streamline the consumer loan processes while enhancing the member experience.
  • Monitor loan application quality, data integrity, and member and staff interactions to ensure all are in alignment with policies, procedures, and member service levels.
  • Ensure policies and procedures stay in compliance with rules and regulations.
  • Provide information to members regarding credit union loan products, policies, requirements, and terms.
  • Review loan approvals and denials for soundness of conclusion.
  • To ensure excellent service to branches and membership, performs all functions of a Loan Officer and/or Member Service Representative Position when needed.

Responsibilities:

  1. Reviewing policies, procedures, processes, and practices on a regular basis to ensure compliance with applicable laws/regulations and creating updating, maintaining, and recommending improvements to current processes, procedures, and policies.
  2. Formulate and maintain a loan procedure manual for the consumer loan department that is up-to-date with all requirements.
  3. Assess each team members strengths and weaknesses to determine additional training needs.
  4. Provide coaching, constructive feedback, training, and tools to lead and motivate loan processors and loan officers.
  5. Create additional training materials that guide staff through the consumer loan process.
  6. Recommend appropriate limits of authority for consumer loan personnel.
  7. Hold loan processors and officers accountable for following policies and procedures and ensuring their work is accurate/efficient.
  8. Distribute all pertinent information to management and staff.
  9. Maintain knowledge of competitor’s rates and terms and other trends relating to consumer lending. Construct and recommend products, rates and terms that reflect the marketplace.
  10. Update systems and communicate any interest rate changes to staff and membership.
  11. Motivate yourself and team to cross sell the credit union products every time a loan application is processed, or a credit report pulled, taking advantage of every opportunity.
  12. Handles complaints from members in branch and keeps upper management informed of situations.
  13. Provides accurate and complete information to members regarding credit union loan products.
  14. Ensures proper housekeeping of work areas, desks, and equipment to provide a professional appearance.
  15. Assists in the implementation of new products or programs adopted to provide better service to current credit union members and stimulate new growth.
  16. Has complete knowledge of data processing and software systems utilized by the Credit Union.
  17. Within approved limits, authorizes exceptions to normal procedures when circumstances warrant, per guidelines.
  18. Prepares and submits loan documentation for all requests that exceed your Loan Officer Limits or that exceed normal guidelines to Management or a Loan Officer that has sufficient authority.
  19. Informs and explains to member the approval, counteroffer, or denial of loan request. Follows up with members, on a consistent basis, on any pending loans (approved but not funded).
  20. Ensures accurate completion of all DMV documentation of private party sales. Maintains DMV files on all title loans and assures proper and timely title recordation by filing certificates of title and researching and resolving any problems.

  • Must be able to frequently move about the branch to accomplish tasks.
  • Prolonged standing through the workday, at times.
  • Corrected vision within the normal range.
  • Hearing within the normal range.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. as may be required.
  • Must be willing to report to the Sacramento (Main), Elk Grove, Roseville & Modesto branch locations – when required.

Qualifications:

Basic reading, writing, arithmetic and communications skills as well as being computer literate. Be bondable and have the flexibility to accept temporary assignments to other jobs in the credit union as needed where training has been provided to insure timely and superior service to our members. Experienced level of the member services/teller position area requiring previous exposure to handling cash and dealing with the public, as would be obtained by six months to one year of experience in teller operations in a credit union or similar financial institution.

Basic Function:

Under limited supervision, performs assigned teller tasks associated with the processing of member transactions such as receiving and disbursing funds, posting deposits, loan payments and withdrawals and processing mail transactions as required using a computerized system. In addition, provides complete and accurate information about all credit union products and services.

Salary Range:

$17.00 to $21.00 depending on experience

Responsibilities:

1. Processes share withdrawals, share deposits, and loan payments received via telephone, from the mail, or in person via our computerized system.

2. Answers telephones, receives and processes mail, and compiles correspondence to members as needed.

3. Properly completes and processes the following applications:
a) Membership
b) ATM Card
c) Payroll Deduction
d) Direct Deposit
e) PET (Personal Electronic Teller)
f) Checking accounts of all types
g) All types of regular and special savings accounts.

4. Processes Visa cash and line-of-credit advances.

5. Provides money order and official check services.

6. Sets up teller work station: Printers, Postage Machine, and Telephone Answering Machine.

7. Conducts member relations activities related to new accounts, special handling and processing requirements.

8. Maintains proper amounts of currency and coin in teller drawer.

9. Maintains security of all cash, deposited items, negotiable instruments, and consigned papers.

10. Filing.

11. Understands procedures in case of robbery.

12. Processes loan applications to include pulling credit reports and refers applications to appropriate loan officer for approval/denial.

13. Is knowledgeable of all credit union services and products and cross sells services at every opportunity.

14. Complies with established policy and procedure on:
a) Requirements for deposited or cashed items (Bank Secrecy Act)
b) Check holds (Reg CC)
c) General service fees (Truth in Savings)
d) Withdrawals and checks disbursed
e) Privacy of member information
f) Security of cash and negotiable items
g) Visa advances.
h) Share, Certificate and IRA accounts and transactions
i) Daily balancing
j) Accuracy in requirements of all paperwork
